My Mother In Law Insists On Giving My Dogs Adult (human) Doses Of Omega?

Now I am a nurse, not a vet, but I don’t think giving adult doses of omega is healthy for my 5 pound dogs- What do you all think?? She’s arguing that it is healthy for their fur.

Omega is are great for their fur and for their joints. You at least need to check with your vet to see what mg is appropriate for your small dogs. If you can find the equivalent of that in human grade it is perfectly fine and is usually alot cheaper. There are other things you can give for their fur–salmon oil, egg etc. and you can just give a small amount. However, if you are content with the condition of your dogs coat and your dogs do not have any skin or joint problems then you don’t have to give the Omega if you don’t want to…they are still your dogs!

What KIND of Omega? How MUCH is a “human” dosage?

  3. no qf

a 5# dog shouldn’t even have a child’s dose – more like an infant’s dose, if that’s possible. cut the dose by at least 1/10.
