Having lived in Okinawa for over 2 years, I can say that their long life expectancy is attributed to many factors. However, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are beneficial. It is also important to remember that once the body has gotten its requirement of essential fatty acids (all that it can use), the rest simply become empty calories.

supplement companies claim they do. But where is the solid proof?? All I ever see is anecdotal evidence.
The average okinawan lifespan due to a number of factors- low stress, lifestyle, overal lgood diet, frequent physical activity etc
The omega-3 fatty acid keeps your body from damaging itself while it supplies itself with oxygen. You wouldn’t expect a car to win the indy 500 unless the pit crew changed it’s tires… Same thing.
